Navajo Nation Hózhó Náhásdlįį’s Earth Day Event

Wingate Elementary School’s Gifted and Talented students participated in the Navajo Nation Hózhó Náhásdlįį’s Earth Day Event at Window Rock, Arizona. The conference included a keynote address from Henry Haven, a Navajo speaker and author, a solid waste environmental teach-in, environmental exhibitors, hands-on activities, door prizes, and a youth art contest.
Students in grades three through eight submitted artwork to the art contest. They celebrated their creativity and passion for protecting our planet through their artwork. The students used their artwork to inspire, share a powerful message, and show what being an environmental steward means to them.

- "Keep our Mother Earth and Father Sky Nizhoniful!" 2nd place (Originality) Snowflake, 3rd Grade
